Take a minute to watch this. Shoutout to the Bubble developer Iβve been working with at Blackbelt - Matt Krandel.
This video encapsulates the promise and horror of AI in selling your IP and creating any Digital Product (and soon any industry where you use your brain to make money).
I mean - wow.
There could not have been a better time to see this video.
There are two things this video represents.
The Yin and The Yang of AI, if you will, for starting a business today.
The AI Deluge is coming (is it here?)
This was a snippet of the conversation at Blackbelt Labs yesterday when I shared this video. At Blackbelt, we coach the best business coaches in the world.
Digital marketing has always had bulk problem. Swarming the market has happened from the first PDF to courses to books.
Coaching has never had the swarm issue. You still need a coach to coach...
Ummm, no
Coaching is not the only industry that will be affected by the deluge. Any knowledge worker, consultant, or professional who uses the information in your brain to make money will be gutted like a fish.
Well, to be more accurate - the mediocre middle is the guts.
The Messy Mediocre Middle
We've seen this before, a new technology from the steam-driven loom to global shipping to what we are about to see (at a far greater scale than either of these)
For Beginners - you can be productive so much faster. Amazing.
For Experts - it's a superpower (for now, Experts with AI will smash Experts).
For the Messy Middle - Goodnight Sweet Prince and Princess
Ryan Diess and I presented at the Laguna Beach Boardroom Conference two weeks ago.
While we were waiting, we were talking. Ryan pointed out.
Those that own the means of production, get richer.
The new tech still needs workers who will be productive; the company will go where this is the cheapest, most adequate and easiest.
The middle in Farming, Transport, Car manufacturing - I could go on. You know the story.
Gee, Ed, this is depressing.
Nope, This is the most significant opportunity you and I have ever seen.Β
Dare I say it, it's biblical in scale...
Speaking of biblical, In one of the stickiest stories known to man.
If you happen to know, say, the most enormous deluge of all time is coming...
What are you going to do?
You better build a boat.
Get your towels ready, it's about to go down (I'm On A Boat!)
I'm on a boat and, it's going fast and
I got a nautical themed Pashmina Afghan
I'm the king of the world on a boat like Leo
If you're on the shore, then you're sure not me-oh
We have two advantages we will exploit to win in the AI revolution. These two things ensure we float in a sturdy boat on top of the deluge.
The first one I talked about here;
The Secret Sauce: Market Understanding x Prompt Whispering
The second,
Superior Marketing: Classic Direct Marketing enhanced with AI
You are in the right place.Β
Let's build our boats.
Ed
PS - So what happens if you take this video, stir in Secret Sauce, season with Superior Marketing and say, I don't know, do it over thirty days...
Interesting... how is this learning? Anyone can put a online course together if its a matter of curating content. Its been done since the web was available. Now with Ai you can do it faster. Two issues I see here.... 1. it's going to flood the market with poor quality courses faster. 2. Information does not equal learning. Think about the learner's experience. We have become information-rich but knowledge-poor. Interested to know other's thoughts.
Yep. that's very powerful. Love to know more about Matt's / Kieran's /Bubble's work.
As you've raised coaching in an AI world, I want to share a little of my own experience in Custom GPT creation.
Coaching/consulting requires a degree of accountability and boundaries being set from coach to client and OpenAI does not want to deal with 'potential problems' and 'disconnected thinking' when analysing a URL or an attached doc. Despite what I say in prefacing the relationship and the importance of the outcomes, the AI will not create any content which could potentially diminish or offend someone's own work and efforts. Fair enough, but I would love to know of any work arounds?
