This is absolutely delightful in all the best ways.
I got the same surprise, the same delight, when I first read Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up
Someone who is insanely passionate at the top of their game, the sheer joy they have for their topic…
So why should you or I bother…
World-class steady-cam, lighting cues…
This was from a comment under James’s coffee video.
Why should you or I bother…
Marie Kondo (The Mariko sama of the tidying world) did her capstone thesis on "Tidying up as seen from the perspective of gender".[17]
Why Should you Or I bother…
I don’t have a world-class video crew or a lifetime passion/obsession with tidying up.
Neither did James when he started…
Kondo San was doing part-time organising gigs while studying.
Or, as some dodgy Australian guy would say,
Stop comparing your first dollar with their last dollar.
Ed
* I’m still not over Shogun, clearly…
Konnichiwa, Ed-san!
(I learned how to say that from watching Shogun back in 1980. Ha! Haven't gotten sucked in this time…yet.)
Love this reminder of something from the Tao of Ed.
And wasn't it nice of James to leave that first dollar video on YouTube. Otherwise, this lesson would not have been possible.
Speaking of which, I almost deleted the first book I wrote from leanpub.com (where I hid it in 2016 and refrained from putting it on Amazon). No, not the journal you coached me on, something else. But somewhere in the back of my mind, I thought maybe some young writer at some point might want to have a look and see how far I've come in the 15 years since I wrote it (right before my first go at 30DC).
BTW, I just finished my second book (or third, if you count the journal) and I'm planning to serialize it right here on Substack. Coming soon, I promise.
Reading this while drinking my morning coffee. Same here: I go to bed looking forward to my morning cup :-) Thanks for reminding us. I also rake wirh me to look into the comments of YT vids more. Have a great time!
